Things to Remember
Give Maria a call IMMEDIATELY if text you added has disappeared.
Do NOT restore a previous version of the document but give Maria a call to sort out the situation.
Check if AutoSave is active. If not, do NOT make any changes in the shared document.
Use comments to alert others to the changes you have made. Use "Track changes" with a lot of caution.
Since there are so many of us working in the same document, tracking changes will make the document look very messy.
If you add a longer text, just add it without "Track changes" being active. Add a comment for the others to see that you have added the paragraph.
Only use "Track changes" if you would like to suggest changes in a paragraph written by another person. Make sure you track only your own changes:
Close the Word file when you are done.
This will help avoid sync issues.
Use paragraph styles
To create automatic table of contents, to easily navigate in the document and - most importantly - to quickly apply a set of formatting choices consistently throughout our documents, we use paragraph styles.
Please delete all empty lines / paragraphs! Space before / after is defined in the paragraph style. So e.g. the space before / after heading 1 can be changed for all headings with one click.
Click on the link below to learn how to apply a paragraph style (e.g. Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) to text in the document.
Make yourself familiar with paragraph styles to use Word efficiently (not just in this project ;-)):
Activate the navigation pane
To easily navigate in a document (using the headings), activate the "Navigation Pane" in the Tab "View".
